Dr. Alcántara has over 16 years of experience as a researcher (h-index 17) and has assisted more than 200 researchers and companies in processing European projects (FP7 and Horizon 2020). As a strategic and innovation consultant, he has a deep understanding of the programming and financing systems available for researchers and companies in Europe.
Since 2013, he has served as an expert for the European Commission and the William Harvey International Translational Research Academy, acting as a reviewer for Marie Sklodowska Curie proposals. He also regularly collaborates with universities and public and private R+D centers in training activities about the Horizon 2020 program. Dr. Alcántara earned his degree in Chemistry from the University of Málaga and holds a PhD in Nanotechnology from CSIC-University of Sevilla (2008). He was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard Medical School and the first Spaniard to receive two consecutive Marie Curie grants under the Seventh European Framework Programme (FP7). Dr. Alcántara is the president of SACSIS and the director of the "Funding and Research" program, designing consultancy services, training programs, and website content. He created the Specialized Course in MSCA actions, with hundreds of students and a high success rate in submitted proposals. He is also in charge of the SACSIS specialized training portal for European projects.
Dr. Alcántara is the author of books such as "Success in European Project Funding" (2013), and "Total Time Management System for Researchers" (2012). He has authored 27 international scientific publications, is a member of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry, and has extensive experience in managing business projects:
2008: He founded The All Results Journals, a set of scientific journals aimed at compiling and publishing negative scientific results, which are of high scientific value. These journals are published by the Society for Scientific Advancement (SACSIS), of which Dr. Alcántara has been the President since 2010. He is also the founder and chief editor since 2008 of The All Results Journals Blog. These projects have received numerous awards and mentions, such as the Bancaja Award (2008), the Félix Delgado Bocos Foundation Award for the Best Innovative Proposal in Biomedical R&D Management 2012, and a mention in the American magazine Forbes (2013).
2012: He founded the website “Optimal Time Management,” a site specialized in offering time management training to scientific researchers. As the general director of the project, he developed the commercial strategy and implemented automated computer systems for managing people and payments. He regularly creates content and manages project prospects.
